Atlanta buyer’s agent uses DPR to pinpoint opportunities for her clients

Sid Lightford head shot cropREALTOR® and First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS) member Sid Lightford became a down payment assistance specialist in 2007. Sid said most homebuyers aren’t aware these programs exist, but they can help meet a real need. Even though the program education and research took additional time, it led to new clients and referrals.

“Buyers are amazed that they could get a home for less than they are paying in rent,” said Sid.

Now that FMLS has integrated Down Payment Resource into its listing data, Sid can quickly pinpoint the specific programs for which a listing can qualify.

“I really like Down Payment Resource in FMLS. In the past, I would have to call the lender to ask about a specific property or use a map to determine what homes may qualify,” said Sid. “Clicking on that link and knowing exactly what programs the home could qualify for helps me tremendously. I save time and can more easily help my buyers save money.”

Sid uses the information in Down Payment Resource to explain to her clients the variety of programs that may be a fit for their personal situation. She shares the details with her clients through email first and then follows up to more fully explain their options and next steps. keep reading

iHomefinder integrates Down Payment Resource on IDX websites

iHomfinder1iHomefinder has now enabled Down Payment Resource (DPR) on all IDX search websites across our shared customer markets, allowing consumers to identify, search and explore the many homebuyer assistance options available throughout the country during their home search.

iHomefinder joins WolfNet and Union Street Media as the latest IDX provider to integrate DPR.  While making down payment assistance program information available to homebuyers is one obvious benefit, iHomefinder Realtor and broker customers also benefit from the automatic, no-cost addition of a new lead-generation tool on their websites.

On average, about 70 percent of active, residential listings in any given market are eligible for one or more homebuyer assistance programs. Now that iHomefinder has integrated DPR into its customers’ sites, those programs are visible and available to consumers during their home search process. Approximately 5 percent of consumers who click DPR on a Realtor or broker’s IDX website will submit their contact information to learn more about their homeownership opportunities. DPR leads and consumer contact information go directly to the website owner along with program results and detailed information on next steps.

Our thanks to iHomefinder for partnering with us on behalf of our shared MLS and real estate customers. iHomefinder customers can learn more about how DPR now looks and works on their website in this short video. keep reading
